Bronze Ram's Head Corbel from our "3 Sheeps to the Wind" Pub Collection

Hi everyone.  Today's release actually was not intended to be a separate release. Funny how things place themselves at the front of your personal deadlines. I was building a portion of the new bar for the pub and spent most of the day texturing the oxidation of hammered bronze of a ram's head. I was inspired by grotesques and thought I could hang this above the fireplace as well. I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me originally to release this as it's own product. I don't give thought to other people possibly enjoying architectural salvage items the way Alchemy and I do in home decor. I showed her my progress for the day and as she would say, she lost her "little girlie mind." I took that to mean it should be released as a stand alone item. So, because of Alchemy, this is now available in the store for your antiquing and salvage pleasure.

I also plan on using the head as a starting point for redoing the flock of sheep on the SIMs soon. However, we are both waiting to see how the pathfinding experiments go before we create flocks that actually wander around.

Next up on my list of things to create are Guinness specific pouring animations. There is a certain way you have to pour from the tap and thus far we cannot find proper anims that confer this so I might as well make one that fits the beer dispensing system I'm building for the pub, eh? I was hoping to release the home bar today but I keep chasing the details of the bar such as the sheep sculpture and authentic beer dispensing. Oi....but if you're serious about your pints and your pubs, you likely don't mind my taking my time to create the details.

I hope this little ram's head brings a little personality to your spaces,
Immortalis Cyannis

(For a closer peek drop by our new Pub Collection department in our main shop.  He's also available on our Marketplace website shop in both a copy version as well as a transferable version.)

The Thirsty Sheep (and his very huggable friend)

Our iconic flock has a new recruit, and he's been spotted hanging out in the "3 Sheeps to the Wind" pub atop one of the tables, enjoying someone's pint!

Adopt this saucy critter to tuck him into your own favourite space, complete with optional lapping tongue, and the authentic "pub salute" (em ... burps, that is).

The owner can turn these features on and off at will, or simply enjoy the new addition as a non-animated prop.

Your new pet ships in a crate that is full of the same kind of hijinx the sheep themselves are known for.  Stand back when you unpack it!  It's a live one ; )

For a closer peek and listen, drop by our new Pub Collection department in our main shop.  He's also available on our Marketplace website shop.

FREE GIFT INSIDE!

We've tucked a free gift into the crate for our favourite shepherds: a free "huggable" sheep with pose and soundeffects when worn.

MUGSHOTS!

The sheep have their own group on Flickr and KoinUp!

Want to share the antics of your own herd? Go ahead and post a pic to our wooly family albums:

Steampunk Edition Draped Memoire Table

Our popular Draped Memoire table is now modifiable and has received a Steampunk makeover, offering:

  • 10 pedestal textures

Released Mid-Sized Ornate Bejewelled Presentation Box

We've added a medium-sized version of our new ornate bejewelled boxes for people who are looking for something a little larger than a ring box, but not quite as big as our Keepsake Box. You'll find the new "Ornate Bejewelled Presentation Box", which is suitable for displaying bracelets and other mid-sized props, available both in our Marketplace store, and in our inworld shop.

So what's the difference between the three? Only size. Aesthetically, it's the same elegant display piece, but each is made to suit a particular set of treasures, with the scripting in the lid tailored to open and close it in proportion to each box. Here's how to choose the one that's right for you:

(Clicking on the links above will take you to the related product in our Marketplace shop).

Want a visual gauge to help you determine the difference between the sizes? Stop by the Jewelry Department in our inworld shop, where you'll find the boxes on display by their vendor (shown in the picture at the top of this post).

Sneak Peek at Our New "3 Sheeps to the Wind" Pub

When you work with a perfectionist, it's impossible to resist peeking over their shoulder from time to time at their process, and in my case, done almost always in awe. Immortalis has been hard at work on our new "3 Sheeps to the Wind" pub, a space we hope will give our residential tenants and guests a fun and authentically Irish place to share a pint and a bit of cheer.

I'll admit I was already excited when I watched him put together the untextured, plain-prim prototype. It was easy to imagine people nestling into snugs listening to bodhráns and fiddles in this cozy place. And then he busted out the digital NOS :D This week he began bringing in the actual sculpted pieces and test textures, and a very vivid and living energy emerged from the simple facade.

We had a logo! (and of course -it- had the requisite, iconic sheep ;) The textures are touchable and highly detailed, with distressed wood, burnished brass and paint that's literally peeling off the prims, a rare dimensionality that makes it pop out of the screen.

The thing that drives him mad and me to delight is his insistence on upping the bar with every new thing he tackles. He's spent the better part of the past 2 months perfecting his workflow between a very new version of Blender, Zbrush and a handful of SL-based tools that allow him to create realistic sculpts and textures in a way he's never done it before.

Here are much more detailed versions of the pictures for a closer peek:

Facade # 1

Facade # 2

Sign

These pictures really don't convey the essence of what is so darn cool about the build I see emerging in our studio, but we hope the sneak peek will offer a little taste of what's to come.

I'll tuck in one last link, which will port you to the spot on the ground that is the future home of our pub, where we hope to be inviting you in for a pint sometime next month.

Slán go fhoil,
Alchemy.

New Ornate Jewelled Ring Box and Keepsake Box

If you've purchased our new "Deirdre of the Sorrows" ring, or one of our new "Courage, My Love" finger talismans, then you've already had a peek at our exquisite new 6-sided jewelled ring box.

When -we- give gifts we like the package to be as pretty as the treasure inside, and we're sure you do too, so Immortalis has conjured up this ornate presentation box to make your gifting extra special, complete with our signature handcrafted sculpts and textures, aged and pitted patina, and sparkling jewel.

The version that ships has a lid that opens and closes, but is not modifiable. It presents it's contents on touch, then renames itself to an ornate jewelled ring box that can be used as a display prop.

For people that want a modifiable version to tuck their own favourite things in, we offer one both in our Marketplace store, and in the jewelry department of our inworld shop. We also offer a larger Keepsake version for necklaces and larger props.

We hope you'll enjoy giving this little gift within a gift as much as we do!

"Courage, My Love" Rings in 5 New Colours and 8 Rustic Metals

Last March we released a limited edition version of our "Courage, My Love" ring, bearing Amethyst stones. It was offered for a very short time, with 100% of the profits going to help fight cancer through the "Relay for Life" effort within Second Life.

Since then people have been asking us to bring this ring back and make it available in our shop. While we won't be doing that, as it was meant to be something unique for the "Relay for Life", we have in fact set out the unreleased versions in other colours.

These elegant cocktail rings have received a bit of a makeover, adding new metals, and the ability to change the "rib cage", "band" and "vines" independently of each other.

NOTE: While the rings in the display ads show a particular set of metals, there are 8 metals in total, with all rings having the ability to display any combination of them.

This finger talisman offers the same firey brilliance that was a hallmark of the Amethyst gems, now in 5 new sets of stones, including the "Amber & Amethyst" version shown in the picture above, and four more companion rings.

The rings also ship in our brand new Ornate Jeweled Ringbox (pictured at the bottom of this post).

Click on the picture to go to the related ring in our Marketplace shop, or click here visit the jewelry department of our inworld store to spoil yourself or your favourite girl with one or two of these exquisite sparklers.

On page 34 Honour shares a bit about us people and how we collaborate to create the magic that populates our digital canvas.

On page 50 she also shares some of our work as we're featured as "Designers of the Month", including more about those iconic mischief-makers, our Blackface Sheep.

On page 58 CeeJay Writer offers a tour through one of our Gatehouse Cottages (one of the prizes for the lucky winner of the quest!) and the rustic and decadent furnishings we tuck in. (By now you might have noticed, as she did, that we're just a bit obsessed with tea ; )

Deirdre of the Sorrows Jewelry Collection on Time for St. Patrick's Day

Skip the green beer and help yourself to something more authentically Irish for St. Patrick's Day this year. Head over to Alchemy Immortalis where you'll find a new collection of jewelry honouring the unbreakable devotion of legendary Irish lovers, Deirdre and Naoise.

Parted in death at the hands of a king, the two lovers were buried side-by-side. From Deirdre's grave a tree grew and, from Naoise's grave grew another. The two trees met and became so intertwined that nothing could ever part them again.

Celebrate this St. Patrick's Day with a exquisite unisex ring donning the intertwined branches of these two lovers embracing a stunning emerald and smoky quartz gems. Custom-crafted sculpts and textures are the hallmark of our jewelry collections, with this ring offering 3 different metal choices on the accent pieces surrounding an elegant bronze band.

The rings also ship in our brand new Ornate Jeweled Ringbox (pictured at the bottom of this post).

You can pick the ring up in our Marketplace shop, or in the Alchemy Immortalis shop inworld, where the companion pieces are also on display on a pedestal in our jewelry department. Click the picture below to port to our inworld store to have a peek.

Right clicking the individual pieces in the display will allow you to purchase them.

Wishing you a Happy St. Patrick's Day from the virtual Emerald Isles ...

New "3 Sheeps to the Wind" Pub Collection - Basic Barrel Table and Chair Set

Now available on the Marketplace web site and inworld at the main Alchemy Immortalis shop.

• 4 barrel stools and a table with realistic shadows, textures, and animations

• lush, tooled-leather seats with realistic shaping

• 14 different animations, including sitting, standing, drinking & smoking

• table is 3 prims (includes optional shadow prim)

• each stool is 2 prims

The heart of Irish culture is the talent for conversation, and the love of music and language. These greatest elements of Celtic history rest in the bosom of the pub. Pubs, throughout history, have represented a link to the outside world, where news could be heard, politics discussed, business opportunities discovered, and friends made. Society has always been divided along lines of ethnicity, gender, race, and class, but in pubs the boundaries often overlap, as diverse groups sit together side by side. Pubs are living history.

The best place to immerse yourself, is by simply finding a pub and taking a seat. Alchemy Immortalis is proud to offer our little barrel table and chair set as the first in a set of props released as part of our "3 Sheeps to the Wind" Irish pub. We hope it inspires you to weave your own little thread in human history.

The set consists of 4 barrels and a table with realistic shadows, textures, and animations.

Each barrel stool contains a total of 14 poses divided between men and woman. They range from sitting, to drinking, and smoking. Props are dispensed when appropriate.

Very soon we will make available a deluxe version with even more animations (including couples and interactive friends animations), as well as stand alone tables and stools for your pub hopping pleasure.

Over the next few months we'll release props as they are finished and fresh from the studio...and build up to the release of the pub prefab this spring. We also have plans to create a pub business kit similar to our popular "Sirenes et Moineaux Patisserie" business kit. The pub kit will allow anyone with a dream of owning an authentic Irish pub to live out your dream, and make a little linden on the side!

We both hope you'll have a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day!

Lush New Low-Prim Spring and Seasonal Wreaths

If your first life locale has been swept by those crazy storms the way our's has, chances are spring arrived a little early. To help welcome it we've just tucked 4 lush new collections of wreaths into the shop, with many of the wreaths being as low as 3 prims, and only L$125.

Drop by our landscaping centre to take a peek at these fun new decor pieces, and bring a little spring into your own favourite space.

(We'll tuck a link in to the Marketplace website once they're available there.)

Residential and Vacation Cottage Rentals at Alchemy Immortalis

In January we opened the doors to our new residential rentals program, inviting guests to rent cottages on our 3 Bed & Breakfast sims. We currently host 5 cottages on Inis Caiseal, 3 on Ceangal and 3 on Saerlaith.

In addition we offer 2 short-term vacation stay skyboxes for daily rentals on our Inis Caiseal sim.

These filled up within hours of opening the program, but from time to time one becomes available again, and will show in our "Rentals Finder" below. (If it's empty, that means everything is currently rented.)

To rent one of our available properties, click the link below it's picture. You will be ported to the rental box. (At the time of this posting, the HippoTech Rentals Finder page was still in beta mode, and we're finding that the links to the map locations are broken.)

You can also visit one of our two rental centres to see available properties based on sim location. You can rent a property from our rental vendors there, or by paying the rental mailbox in front of the available property.
We've updated our rental centre systems to correct problems that have been making it difficult for people to find and rent available properties. We apologize for the inconvenience, and think you'll find the new property listings vendors much easier to use.

Want to be notified when a cottage becomes available for rent? There's a sign in each of the rental centres that you can click to subscribe to our rental property alerts.

We hope that you'll find a homestead of your own within our rustic little community. Please don't hesistate to let us know if you need assistance, have questions, or wish to bend our ear about something that you think will make our little community even more welcoming and resilient!

We're looking forward to having you as our neighbour!

"May your troubles be less
And your blessing be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door."
